ONE: I'm Definitely the next Jane Austen

I'm not very good at starting things off. Clearly, that's one of my weaknesses as a writer. Writing was never something I had ever considered doing and I'm not entirely sure who I am as a writer or if I'm any good. I'm hoping to figure this out, as I go along in the course.
In everything I've ever written, whether it be an answer to a question or a personal response, I never develop enough. For some odd reason, I can never fully explain something as clearly and as thorough as it should be. So you can imagine that I'm not very good with word limits.
I do enjoy reading. Unfortunately, it's been a while since I have had the time to sit down and read a book. At the moment I have a list of unfinished books which include: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Wuthering Heightsand Life of Pi. I've restarted Life of Pi twice, and I still haven't had the time to finish because when I read a novel, I prefer to read it continuously. As in, I will take it with me in the kitchen, in the bathroom, at the mall and at the grocery store.
I haven't really written many things, aside from essays and responses. I do not enjoy writing those. At all. I don't really mind writing poetry, if I have to. It does take me a while to think of a subject to write about, however, it takes me a while to do everything anyway. The last time I did really well on a writing assignment, was in grade eight. I wrote a story about a couple trying to buy some cheese at Metro who then ran into some trouble whilst trying to find the cheese. I named it based on my favourite Protest The Hero song at the time because yes, at one point in my life, I listened to metal music. It was called Sequoia Throne: Quest to Find the Missing Cheese. It was the most ridiculous thing I had ever written but it was probably also the best thing I had ever written. Hopefully, by the end of the class, I'll be able to progress from missing cheeses.
